Gerry, Jr.,
Jim and I are sorry for your loss.  I met Gerry when he was one of my managers in Southern Bell's General Trade Products Group and I served on the clerical staff.  Gerry was one of my very best bosses, an exemplary model of honesty and respect, no matter to the level of employment.
It was during a Pioneers Luncheon that we became aware of his retirement, along with his wife, Helen.  When I took my own retirement in 2015, I was living  close to Athens, Georgia.  Jim and I drove to  Loganville to visit them and we continued our friendship long after Gerry lost Helen.  We enjoyed many conversations over lunch.
Today, we are sad to learn that Gerry passed away when we were spending the summer in North Dakota.  God has brought Gerry to His Heavenly Home .  He is reunited with Helen in Everlasting Life.

My condolences to you on the loss of your father. I will always remember him as a kind and friendly person. He always sent a card to my parents. They seemed to have had a close friendship through out the years I guess after our grandfather passed insuring help to our grandmother and her young children. I don't remember exactly when I became aware that we always called him Uncle Russell and it wasn't is first name but all my life and forevermore he will always be Uncle Russell.
