Hilario Gutierrez

Gutiérrez-Trujillo, cariñosamente conocido por muchos como “Layo”“ Larry”,”Es viejo” "cuñao", "paisita" y simplemente como neighbor, falleció el 26 de agosto de 2026 en su hogar de Lawrenceville, Georgia, tras enfrentar un glioblastoma con la misma fortaleza serena que demostró en todos los aspectos de su vida. Tenía 70 años.

Nacido el 28 de febrero de 1956 en Turicato, Michoacán, Hilario llevaba consigo la calidez de sus raíces a dondequiera que iba. Construyó su vida a base de trabajo duro, dedicando sus años laborales a operar sierras manuales, una labor que desempeñó con orgullo y entrega. Estaba casado con María Gutiérrez; juntos compartieron una lealtad y devoción que sirvieron de pilar para su familia.

Quienes conocieron a Hilario sabían que era un hombre humilde, siempre el primero en ceder el asiento, sostener la puerta u ofrecer una cerveza fría a los demás. Tenía el don de hacer reír a la gente con sus dichos y su estilo único de humor, capaz de convertir un día cualquiera en un recuerdo memorable. Bondadoso y servicial por naturaleza, nunca dejaba pasar la oportunidad de echar una mano.

También tenía un lugar favorito: su garaje, al que llamaba su familia cariñosamente "su oficina". Allí, al aire libre, se sentía plenamente a gusto, ocupado en sus arreglos, reflexionando y disfrutando de los placeres sencillos de estar fuera de casa.

Quizás lo más destacable de Hilario fue que nunca se rindió, ni siquiera cuando la vida se tornaba difícil. Afrontó cada desafío con valentía y determinación, hasta el último momento.

Le sobrevive su esposa, sus hijos, nietos, hermanos, y sobrinos quien mantienen vivo su espíritu, su sentido del humor y su perdurable ejemplo de serenidad y entereza ante la adversidad.

Hombre de fe, Hilario encontró consuelo en sus creencias Católicas y su familia se reconforta al saber que ahora descansa en paz. El servicio religioso se llevará a cabo en la Misión Católica Nuestra Señora de las Américas.

La familia desea expresar su agradecimiento a todos aquellos que elevaron oraciones durante la enfermedad de su y esposo, especialmente en los días previos a su partida. Las oraciones fueron su fuente de fortaleza durante todo el proceso y siguen manteniéndolos unidos hoy en día.

Hilario Gutierrez-Trujillo, known lovingly by so many as "Layo", "Larry","cuñao", "paisita" , and simply neighbor, passed away on August 26, 2026, at his home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, after facing glioblastoma with the same quiet strength he brought to everything in life. He was 70 years old.

Born on February 28, 1956, in Turicato, Michoacan, Hilario carried the warmth of his roots with him wherever he went. He built his life through hard work, spending his years as a hand saw operator, a job he took on with pride and dedication. He was married to Maria Gutierrez, and together they shared the kind of loyalty and devotion that anchored their family.

Anyone who knew Hilario knew he was a humble man, always the first to give up his seat, hold the door, or offer someone a cold beer. He had a gift for making people laugh, with his sayings and his own brand of humor that could turn an ordinary day into something you'd remember. Kind and helpful to the core, he never turned away from a chance to lend a hand.

He also had a favorite spot, his garage, which we affectionately called his office. It was there, out in the open air, that he was most at home, tinkering, thinking, and enjoying the simple pleasures of being outdoors.

Perhaps what stood out most about Hilario was that he never gave up, even when life got hard. He met every challenge head on, right up until the end.

He is survived by his wife, his children, grandchildren, siblings, and nieces and nephews who will carry forward his spirit, his humor, and his enduring example of grace under pressure.

A man of faith, Hilario found comfort in his Christian beliefs, and his family takes solace in knowing he is at peace. The service will be held at Mision Catolica Nuestra Senora de las Americas.

The family wishes to thank everyone who prayed through their loved one’s journey, and especially in the days leading up to his transition. Prayers are what strengthened them through the process and continue to hold them together today.

Rest easy, Hilario You will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know you.

A Funeral Mass will follow on September 2, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at External Service Location, 4603 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lilburn, GA 30047, US.

A Committal Service will take place on September 2, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, 3700 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039, US.
