November 5, 1958 – August 3, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Irving George Jessie, who departed this life on August 3, 2026, at the age of 67.
Born on November 5, 1958, in Colón, Panama, to James Jessie and Olga Pearl Scott, Irving lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and devotion to his family. While many knew his outward demeanor to be serious, those closest to him knew his playful side. At home, he was goofy, loved to joke around, and brought laughter and joy to those he loved.
Irving was an ambitious and hardworking man who proudly graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC. He served his adopted country with honor in the United States Army, dedicating 20 years of faithful service, retiring as an E6 - Staff Sergeant (SSG). He later worked with G4S Security Services for 15 years. His generosity, strong work ethic, and commitment left a lasting impact.
He enjoyed thrifting, traveling, DIY home projects, music, and dancing, his favorite car was Cadillac, and one of his favorite places to visit was Disney World, where he created cherished memories with family.
Irving was preceded in death by his beloved older sister, Christina.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Elida Jessie; his loving sister, Dorothy Brown; his children, James Jessie, Vanessa Jessie, Shanice Barnes, Heidi Cosek, Emiro Barco, Raymond Barco, Laura Champion, and Ronny Gordon; a host of beloved grandchildren; friends; and extended family members who deeply miss his presence, wisdom, and love.
Though Irving's departure leaves a void in our hearts, his legacy of service, generosity, laughter, and love will forever be cherished.
