On Tues Jan 7th the world lost a man that may not go down in the history books, but will be forever celebrated by the many he touched. Don Rice, born 5/5/1935, passed away at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 50+ years, Venia Rice; his 3 sons Mike, Craig, and Jackie; his daughter Teresa; and multiple grandchildren. Don lived and worked his life to take care of and protect his family, friends, and even strangers he ran across that needed help. There were many times we wondered how and why Dad put himself out there to do some of the things he did for others. Now in his passing with no great worldly praise we see. The body was just his shell of armor to perform his mission of compassion and responsibility to all he encountered. Don was a great man that touched many more lives than I'm sure he didn't realize or expect credit for. Rest in peace Dad; your work is done but never forgotten.

Well said Mike! He was a wonderful man and I know he was so proud of you and your many accomplishments. I remember he went out of his way for us many times and will never forget him. I hope you will find some peace. Hang on to your memories and he will be with you in your heart. Much love to you and your family.

Although we did not know Don personally, we do know that he was a very generous neighbor. For many years he shared his delicious produce from his garden with us. We have fond memories of those fresh vegetables!
We will miss seeing him and his hand waving to us whenever we were outside.
Our prayers are with Vinnie and her beautiful family.

He was my Dad, a great man. Dad gave me the guidance, life tools and lived the example that have allowed me to be successful and also have a wonderful family. He was my hero and always will be.
