She was born July 10, 1927 in Atlanta, Georgia. One of four daughters of Joseph Tillman Milam
and Beulah Louise Clay Milam, Jackie grew up in Atlanta alongside her three sisters, Gloria
Marie Slaick, Eugenia Pearl Jarrett and Jo Ann Watkins. She often recalled her childhood fondly
cherishing the strong bonds of sisterhood that shaped her early life. She attended Girls High in
Atlanta where she developed the poise, resilience and determination that would remain with her
throughout her long life. Throughout the years, there would be many pictures of just “the four
girls”, no matter how old they were.
Jackie was first married to Sidney G. Konkle. Together they had two daughters, Brenda Louise
Hulsey and Judy Carol Bollinger. After that marriage ended, she later married Charles Robert
Todd. Jackie and Bob built a loving home together and welcomed two more children, Charles
Robert Todd Junior and Rita Todd Kobert.
Family was at the center of Jackie's life. She poured her love and energy into raising her
children. Always putting her family first, her home was a place where everyone felt welcome.
Whether it was a family gathering around her table, friends stopping by for a visit or
grandchildren running through the yard, she delighted in celebrating milestones. Offering
encouragement and sharing in both the joys and challenges of her children and grandchildren's
lives Jackie was known for her strength, spirit and generous heart. She had a remarkable ability
to listen, to guide and to support, often with wisdom that was both practical and full of grace. Her
laughter, kindness and warmth will be deeply missed but will continue to live on through the
many lives that she has touched.
