On Thursday, February 10th, 1944 in Au Cap, Haiti Jean Joseph Jean Pierre was born to Appolon Jean Pierre and Elizabeth Jean Pierre. Raised alongside nine brothers Petit Jean attended boarding school in Port-au-Prince where he met his life-long friend Louis. In November of 1975 Peti migrated to the U.S. Jean Joseph Jean Pierre also known as Petit Jean or Pappi/Daddy later had five children of his own. One boy and four girls. As a husband he showed what true love and commitment looked like. As a father he provided guidance, support, and love to his children. As a grandpa he created memories that will stay with us forever. If you knew Petit Jean you knew that he loved people and was a quiet comedian that always found a reason to laugh with those around him. His sense of humor bought joy to family gatherings and ordinary days.
On June 5, 2026 our irreplaceable Petit Jean transitioned to eternity in his sleep. We are all grateful for the 82 years of memories created with Pappi! He left behind his devoted wife Marie Lourdes, children Lynda, Emmanuella, Josue, Lucile and Annie, and nine grandchildren Dhiandra, Leiyana, Ysrael, Janaiah, Chloé, Jeremiah, Adele, Elias, and Avil Josiah.
Though we will miss his voice, his laughter, and his presence, we are grateful for the years that we shared with him and his impact on our lives. Our hearts may still be weary and heavy with grief but today we find comfort in knowing that his legacy still lives on through his family. We find comfort in knowing that he is with Jesus laughing it up. We will carry his strength, his humor, and his love with us every day.
Don’t worry, be happy!
