Jerry Grayson Morris

Born and raised in Marietta, Ga., Jerry served two years in the U.S. Army before settling down with the love of his life, Mary Ann, and starting a family. Jerry’s commitment to his wife and five children was the undercurrent of every decision he made; above all, he was a provider. From taking on extra work and adding to or updating spaces in the house to make it more accommodating for his growing family, to coaching his sons’ soccer teams and cheering on his grandchildren at every sporting event he could attend, Jerry provided his family with steadfast care and support.

Jerry and Mary Ann wed on June 7, 1969, and were married for 44 years until her sudden death in 2013. His love for her continued, unwavering, until his final breath.

A family man through and through, Jerry dedicated himself to raising children who were honest, hardworking, and self-sufficient—not to mention athletic. He taught all his children how to play tennis, soccer, ping pong, billiards, and darts. As they grew, his children benefited from larger life lessons, from changing a car’s oil to tackling basic home improvement projects. The most important lesson Jerry instilled in his children was this: almost anything can be done yourself if you are willing to put in enough effort, time, and determination.

A veteran of the printing trade, Jerry honed his skills as a strategic purchaser over the course of his 50 years in the industry, finally retiring after many years at Primerica.

Jerry’s legacy lives on in the love and dedication his own children have for their spouses and families. The path he paved continues to guide them toward prosperity.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren: Annette and Brent (Kendall & Kaci), Andy and Margaret (David & Meg), Tony and Amy (Anna & Lily), Alan and Sally (Grayson & Eliza), and Adam and Ann-Marie (Elena, Adeline & Lincoln).
