Many blessed memories flood my soul when thinking of John and Maureen, who  came into our lives when they joined Forrest Hills Baptist Church (around 1970) while my father was pastor there. How easy it was to fall in love with The Dickson Family with their winsome ways and lovely Irish accent!  When they learned I was born on St. Patrick's Day and that my middle name is also Maureen, we enjoyed a special bond of love.  Thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord these many years.  And, Maureen, you have been a beautiful example of a Godly wife and mother. Rick and I admire you and respect you and love you. Great is your reward in Heaven. John Dickson had such a wonderful smile. I know we will all miss that. Most of my memories of you guys are from so long ago, but they are the best kind of memories. Simple memories filled with laughter and goodness. My thoughts go out to you, Mrs. Dickson. You are the best of women, and may you draw comfort from having your family with you.

I'm thinking of you all, and saying prayers for comfort as you say goodbye to John. But it's only for a little while, and we all look forward to a happy reunion soon! I have very fond memories of your family and babysitting for the children back in the Forrest Hills days. Love and hugs to you all!

I want you to know that love you and each one of your family. I rejoice in the blessed hope that you have that John is now with JESUS his wonderous Savior! hALLELALEJUH! This is the day he witnessed so fergervently about after he got saved. I am sorry for the empty space he will leave in your lives but now he will fill more space in your hearts which can never be taken away. I am praying.for all of you and I know that our God of love and peace will give you the strength you need for this hour and every hour.

So glad I had you as my big brother. I just wish we spent more time together, but the time we had I will fondly remember until I join you.  I loved your sense of humour and your love for wildlife. Im so proud of your artistic talent and will treasure the artwork you gave me. I'll always smile when I think of you and that is a great legacy you have given me, until we meet again, your loving brother, Billy, XXX.

Mr. Dickson, I am so sorry for your family's loss. You all have my deepest sympathy. 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. From Erik, Ms. Curry, and Madison.

So many good memories of raising our children together.  Remember sitting in the Dickson kitchen eating Long John Silver's fish and chips and befuddled that there was no ice in the freezer.  That is very unusual in Decatur, GA.  We will see you soon LOVE. (That's what he called us ladies in his Scottish brogue.)  A love of a man.

Brother John, was the most incredible friend I ever had, always a smile and a man of infinite knowledge, but most of all, an incredible artist and world traveler. It is a sad day, yet his laughter still peals through the air as he slaps his knees with glee, I'm just sorry we never took that trip to Scotland together. May the wings of angels lift thee up to thy just reward. Your friend always!!!!!!!!!!
