

Graduated from Carlisle Military School. Attended College @ University of Southern Mississippi. Where he played football on a scholarship. He later enlisted into the Marine Corps.
He met his future wife Sarah Criswell Bridgers while attending the university of southern Mississippi and they were married shortly afterwards. They settled in Smyrna Georgia where Joseph worked as a sports cameraman for the local fox network. He later transitioned to becoming a detective with the Cobb County Sheriff’s office and focused on his love of law enforcement. While working with the county he was part of a unique organization and played a large role in the development of the Marietta, Cobb Narcotics Squad. He then transitioned into the role of a Federal Law enforcement Officer doing special ops. At that time he relocated to Brunswick Georgia
At one time in his life he was considered one to the top authorities in law enforcement on motorcycle gangs testifying and speaking across the United States. He retired from The Federal Law enforcement training center in 1997. He was an instructor on gang activities and gas chamber exercises. Later in life he became a member of the 2 way fish camp, obtained his captains license and started a deep sea charter fishing company.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Sarah Criswell Bridgers, Mother Florence Bridgers, Father Joseph Coy Bridgers, Sr and Brother Russell Bridgers. He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Crowe, Rose Hammac and her Husband Lee, Amanda Foster and her husband William. His son Joseph Coye Bridgers, III, Grandchildren Daniel, Matthew and Austin Crowe. Kaitlyn and Sarah Hammac, Dalton and Sarah Foster and two Great Grandchildren, Mason and Harper.
