Wilma June Gilbert Leggett, age 96, of Snellville, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Belmont Village in Suwanee, GA.
June Gilbert was born in Alabama on April 7, 1922 and raised in Hiram, GA by her parents, Joseph & Leila Gilbert. She married James Leggett on her 18th birthday, 1940.
June and James, along with their eldest son, Gilbert, founded Leggett Motor Rebuilding Company in December 1962. She was a well-respected leader in the family automotive business for more than 45 years.

An avid sports fan, she could often be found rooting for her favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. Her love of sports extended from her time in high school playing basketball, a skill she passed down to her daughter, Denise, and granddaughter Jaime.
Her three biggest loves were her faith in Jesus, her family, and reading. She is predeceased by her husband, James Leggett; two of her sons, Bruce Leggett and Gilbert Leggett; and three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Leggett (Elizabeth Leggett) of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., daughter, Denise Leggett Kruppa (Ken Kruppa) of Cumming, GA, and daughter-in-law, Melanie Leggett of Snellville, GA.

Family: My thoughts and prayers to each of you in the passing Ms June Leggett. I knew some of her family along with my late mother (Myrtice Croker Rakestraw) talking of her in Hiram and attending school with my mother.
