June Walton Wilson, age 88, of Lilburn, GA, died February 19, 2019. June was born June 27, 1930 in Greenwood, SC and had two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Wendell Lewis, Duluth, GA; son Gary Gambrell, of Lilburn, GA; granddaughter, Kelly (Clint) Boling, great granddaughters, Emma and Avery Boling of Dunwoody, GA. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband Captain Charles M. Wilson in 2002. She was a long time member of Corinth Baptist Church, following the congregation from Stone Mountain to Loganville. June was renowned for her quilting, needlepoint, and baking. She won many awards for her quilts that included intricate sewing and unique patterns. June was also good at needlepoint and enjoyed making and framing her works of art. June was famous for her “Mimi” cakes that were the highlight of birthdays and family celebrations. Each cake was special and often the only request from family and friends on birthdays was, “Can I have a Mimi cake?” In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Corinth Baptist Church Orphanage fund. Visitation will be held February 23 at 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at Eternal Hills, Snellville. Service is at 1:00PM in Eternal Hills Chapel with Rev. Don Richards officiating. Interment, Rev. Tom Foskey, Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA following service. Eternal Hills Funeral Home, Snellville, 770-972-3155.
