Louis completed his Primary Education at Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic School and his secondary education at Chatham High School.
Louis, fondly referred to as Lupa or Lou, migrated to the United States of America in 1967. He worked on Wall Street at J.P. Morgan Chase Bank in the Securities Division for many years and at the Republic Bank in Brooklyn, New York City in the Securities Division.
On his retirement in 2006 he and his wife Cornelia relocated to Arizona. They lived in Arizona from 2006 to 2016 and during the year 2016 relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to be close to his daughter Cornelia, and his nieces Dionne Syblis and Marcia Hamlet.
Lou is survived by his loving wife Connie (nee Morant) of 42 years. Sons: Stanislaus and Jason Morant. Daughters: Cornelia (Neally) & Sheree Hamblin. Grandchildren: Keevin Deans, Jon Quis, Jamaree, Kyle Morant, Sacora and Darius and great grandson, Kieran Deans. Brothers: Maurice, Lennox and Joseph (Deceased). Sisters: Leila DePeana and Jean Alexander (Deceased). Sisters-in-law: Avril Bouyea and Gloria Bouyea. Brother-in-law: Walter Morant, Clem Alexander (deceased), George DePeana. Nieces: Dionne Syblis, Shavane Philip, Marcia Hamlet, Cecilee-Ann, Simonne, Juliet, Michelle Alexander, Wendy Morant and Collette Ackman (deceased). Nephews: Ian, Trevor, Mark, Andre, Ken, Brian, Duane and Chris Morant. Great Nieces: Christin, Aliya, Danielle. Great Nephews: Raphael, Adam, Xavier, Brandon, Rashaude, Jonathan, Ryan and David. Cousins-in-law Claudette (William) and Barbara (Cedric) Bouyea and many other relatives and close friends.
Lou was greatly loved by many of his close friends and neighbors in Queens, New York. He will be remembered for the summer time cookouts (he loved to cook) at his home in the back yard on Saturdays/Sundays. He had a love for music, cooking, decorating the home especially at Christmas time and gardening was his favorite passion. He had a ‘green thumb’ everything he put into the ground blossomed. A significant piece of his collections was his favorite fish pond in the back yard in Queens, New York
Lou or Lopa will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him. May his Soul Rest in Peace.
