Luke was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sheela, his children: Christopher and Sheena, Diana and Rakeem, Charles, William and Janet, Richard and Nisaa, Andrew and Chanel, and Edward, as well as his little granddaughter, Elliana.
To those who had the privilege of knowing him, Luke was a man of profound character, unwavering principles, and a heart that knew no limits in its capacity to love and serve others.
His life was one that was defined by dedication, humility, courage, and quiet strength. He was a courageous man, who always stood up for what was right, regardless of the consequences. He approached every aspect of life - be it monumental or mundane with sincerity and care.
Luke's love for the Knanaya community was a cornerstone of his life. He embraced its identity, upheld its traditions, and was unwavering in his commitment to preserving its culture for generations to come. His consistent presence at 12 of the 14 KCCNA conventions spoke to his deep-rooted dedication to the community, only stopping once his health began to falter. Luke was not merely a parishioner of the Holy Family Knanaya Catholic Church - he was one of its strongest pillars. His support-whether physical, emotional, or financial -was constant and unconditional. Luke devoted so much time and energy to the community, never expecting recognition or praise; rather out of his own desire to see his community flourish. His generosity stemmed from a place of deep compassion and conviction, rooted in a soul that was truly selfless. Through years of service, advocacy, and his unwavering faith in his community, he helped shape the church into what it is today.
Luke Thomas Chakkalapadavil lived not just a good life, but a noble one. A man who expected nothing in return but continuously lived a life of service and love for his family and his community. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled. Yet, his spirit lives on - among his beloved wife and his seven children that he loved and was so proud of, among the Holy Family Knanaya Catholic church and the Knanaya community he served sincerely, and among all the lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
May the Lord welcome him with open arms, and may his soul rest in everlasting peace.
