Margaret L. Moodie

Margaret "Mag" Moodie was one of six children born to Henry and Louise Hutchinson in Lucky Hill, St. Mary Parish, Jamaica. She attended Goshen School and then went on to work for the post office in several locations until she immigrated to the United States in the 1960's. She joined family members in New York City and became an executive secretary for the Woolworth Company until she retired. Again to join family members, she relocated to Georgia in the 1990's and then used her phenomenal smile and healing personality to provide compassion services to the sick and shut in.

Mag was a kind and sociable person. Her Jamaican spirit was pervasive. She loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed entertaining them with her expert Jamaican cuisines and beloved Jamaican music. She enjoyed traveling and never turned down an opportunity to explore the US or any other country.

Mag deeply loved the Lord and her church family. She was a dedicated member of the Assembly of God Tabernacle in Decatur, Georgia. She looked forward to weekly services, bible studies, special holiday celebrations and travel with her church family.

Mag was a supportive and loving family member who will be sorely missed by all. She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Juliette Philoxy, son-in-law Gary Philoxy, and granddaughter Andrina Philoxy, sisters Eugeny "Gene" Malliet, Grace Wright and Dr. Joyce (Chet) Craft. Her brothers Henry and Herbert preceded her in death.

She leaves many beloved nieces and nephews, Howard Hutchinson, Hugh Hutchinson, Collin Hutchinson, Dr. Terri Wright, Annette Wright, Harold Hutchinson, David Hutchinson, Horace Hutchinson, the late Howard Hutchinson, Celia Watford, Shawn Hutchinson, Andrea Hutchinson, Hermia Craft, Nina Craft, Suzette Craft and several great and great great nieces and nephews, relatives and lifelong friends.

Mag's infectious smile, generous spirit, deep love and compassion will remain in our hearts forever.
