Martha M. Buice Brown

Martha was born in Forsyth County, Georgia, to the late Stephen Ezra and Senia Terry Buice. She and her twin brother were the youngest of six children. After graduating from Cumming High School, Martha moved to Atlanta and worked for Western Union. While living in Atlanta, she met and married her late husband of 50+ years, John Ernest Brown. She quit work to devote her life to her family and her home. When her children were older, she returned to work in the DeKalb County School System in various school cafeterias.

She is survived by her children: Elaine Ferguson (Gary), Keith Brown (Julie), Nelda Brown, and Timothy Brown (Mary); grandchildren: Bradley Ferguson, Melissa Parrish (David), Casey Brown, Benjamin Brown (Lauren), Joshua Brown, and Rebecca Anderson (J.T.); great-grandson, Chandler McCue, nieces, nephews and many friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn Buice (Beatrice); Renzo Buice (Helen, Carnesville, Georgia); and her twin, Marcus Buice; sisters, Grace Buice and Ruthel Kay (J.B.); and son-in-law, Gary Ferguson.

Martha was a current member of Annistown Road Baptist Church, Snellville. She was a long-time member of Columbia Drive Baptist Church, Decatur and its Vota Vita Sunday School Class.

Throughout her life, Martha truly enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her friends and family. Her recent pleasures were attending the Columbia Drive Baptist Church quarterly alumni luncheons and various family reunions.
