Mary E. Hilborn

Mary Ellen Hilborn of Lilburn, GA, born March 4, 1944, passed away at the age of 76 on Saturday, January 30, 2021. She was born in Rochester, Michigan to the late Val and Helen Murrish. She is preceded in death by three brothers Richard Murrish, Bob Murrish, and Bill Murrish.

Mary Ellen graduated from Palm Beach State College as an RN and worked many years until she retired in 2009. She was a dedicated member of Mountain Park United Methodist Church since the early 1980s. She was passionate about volunteering as a greeter and working in the front office at the church. She was dedicated to and enjoyed her membership in the United Methodist women’s circle “New Moon Rising”. She loved quilting and spent many hours making quilts loved and treasured by so many family and friends. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas John Hilborn; 3 children, Jon David Hilborn (Janice), James Jason Hilborn, and Deborah Hilborn Chapman (Charles); sister; Barbara Jean Thomas, 3 grandchildren; Amanda Mary Hilborn, Charles Wesley “Chaz”Chapman III, Cameron Reese Chapman; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Family will have a private service at home, officiated by Reverend Ellynda Lipsey. A celebration of life will be held at Mountain Park United Methodist Church at a time to be determined.
