In Loving Memory of Michael Francis Schell
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Michael Schell, who departed this world on Thursday, November 2, 2023 surrounded and supported by his adoring family. Michael was a remarkable man who touched the lives of his grandkids and family and will be deeply missed.
Born on April 30, 1950 to Elizabeth Gerst Schell and John Daniel Schell in Louisville, Kentucky, Michael was a loving husband, father, Pop, and cherished friend who worked as a Bioengineering Tech at Medex. He was known for his quick wit, extensive vocabulary, love of literature, endless sports knowledge, and devotion to his family.
He was an avid Braves fan and all-around sports fanatic. He loved the Atlanta Braves and anything related to baseball, Georgia Tech football, Louisville athletics, the Atlanta Falcons, finding joy in sports and sharing stats and facts with anyone who would listen. He had a special way of making every moment memorable and brought a sense of humor to all his endeavors.
Michael is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pamela Schell; 3 adult children, Matthew Schell, Katie Schell, Amanda Schell-Jolley, and their spouses; 6 grandchildren, Kayla Schell, Elena Schell, Mia Schell, Ansley Schell, Jackson Jolley, and Jonathan Jolley; and four brothers and sisters, Sue Roland, John Schell, Jim Schell, and Terri Troisi. He is preceded in death by both his parents, John Daniel Schell, and Elizabeth Gerst Schell. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A mass to celebrate the life of Michael Schell will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at noon at St. Lawrence Catholic Church followed by a graveside service at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. As we bid farewell, we take solace in the knowledge he has found peace and rest.
Though Michael may no longer be with us in person, his spirit, love and support he shared will remain eternally in our hearts. He will be greatly missed.
