He was preceded in death by his Mother Cornelia Tudor Tatman, Father Milton Emerson Tatman Sr., and his brother Marvin Tatman. Milton accepted Christ early as a child and remained solid in his faith as a Christian.
Milton attended Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky where he received his high school diploma, He then went on to Kentucky State College where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree, and soon after went on to the University of Kentucky completing his Master of Social Work. He moved to Atlanta Georgia to work in the Federal Prison System and later accepted a position with Atlanta Public Schools. In between all of this Milton was introduced to a very lovely New Jersey girl "Anita" who was captivated by his Southern Charm, and a year later they were married. The following year they had the "greatest thing since sliced bread" their wonderful son, Cornell Jamaal whom they call CJ.
Milton and Anita enjoyed 38 years of Love.
His greatest joy and fulfillment, with the help of those co-workers he worked closely with and could truly call friend in his career, was helping students through the many challenges they face due to personal economic and social issues within the Atlanta Public School System. It was not unusual for Milton (after so many Government funded programs were cut)to go above and beyond to provide assistance out of his own pocket whether it be groceries, clothing, transportation (MARTA/Bus) vouchers, or his many connections with Faith Based and Community Organizations to help families.
Milton was a wonderful husband, father, and lifelong friend to many. His faith was real and he always kept God first in all he accomplished. His humor, love of his plants, his playful teasing of his dog Queenie, his beautiful singing voice, and love of R&B music are silent now. No more pain, no more suffering... He rests in the arms of God.
We Love you Milton, He will be missed.
