Neal Lothar Schlobohm, 80, of Newnan, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018, at his home. Neal was born on April 28, 1938 in Carlisle, IL to Alfred and Regina Schlobohm. The youngest of six children, Neal grew up in Alton, IL where he learned to love sports and the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. He later served his country in the United States Army as a Paratrooper. Neal is a graduate of UCLA and DeVry Universities. Neal was a history buff who enjoyed traveling later in life, reading, fishing and tinkering with and repairing computers. A devoted husband and father, Neal was truly a man of strength and courage and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Doris Jodice; sons Erik Schlobohm of Salt Lake City, UT and Kurt Schlobohm and wife Mitzi of Big Stone Gap, VA; stepchildren Monika Lunsford and husband David of Carrollton, GA, Dana Jodice and husband David Gallagher of Charlotte, NC, Erika Jodice of Snellville, Jerry Wayne Jodice of Atlanta and Kyle Jodice and wife Penny of Snellville; nieces Karen Baraty and Susan Naschke of Peachtree City and Debbie Snyder of Austin, TX; grandchildren Tyler, Torrie, Austin and Elijah; step grandchildren Jeri Lee, Tiffany, Justin, Ryan, Jenna, Morgan, Rebekah, Brooke, Elaine, Grace and Marshall; step great grandchildren Adelyn, Hadleigh and Emerson; and great nieces Brianna, Sarah and Heather. Memorial services will at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 16, 2018, in the Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel located in Snellville, Georgia. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to The Gary Sinise Foundation which helps the families of veterans.
