She is survived by her daughters Tanya Carver (William) of Fort Collins, CO and Lynn Woody of Buchannan, GA; four grandchildren Dean Carver, Devin Whitworth (Tiffany), Allen Whitworth (Denise Craw), Rose Whitworth; and six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Nora was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Dooley in May of 2026, as well as her parents and 19 siblings.
Throughout her life, she worked a small variety of jobs but she retired with 30 years of service from Bellsouth (AT&T) in 1995. After retirement, Nora joined several groups that worked alongside some of her husband’s organizations including The American Legion Auxiliary (ALA), Unit 232, in Snellville. She enjoyed hobbies such as Bingo, her flower beds, thrift-store shopping, spending time with friends, reading love stories, and watching who-dun-its on tv. Nora’s favorite pastime was anything related to her grandkids.
A visitation with family and a graveside service will be on Monday, September 28, 2026. Family will receive visitors from 11am to 1pm at Eternal Hills Funeral Home at 3594 US-78 E, Snellville, GA 30039.
