Rebecca graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1969.
In 1973, she moved to Clarkston, Georgia near Atlanta and was soon joined by her sister
and two friends. There she met her future husband, Carlos Banda, and they were married
in 1976. They moved to Lilburn, Georgia in 1979. Rebecca graduated from Georgia State
University, Cum Laude, in 1983, and obtained her Certified Public Accountant Certificate.
She worked as a Certified Public Accountant until her retirement in 2010, with the firm of
Jones, McKnight and Edmundson.
Rebecca prided herself on her work ethnic. She always wanted the hardest tax returns or audits
to work on. But she always held her family as the center of her life. Everything else was a distant
second. Rebecca loved the beach and camping with her family. She took pleasure in cleaning her
house even after long hours at work. She always had a great love for the outdoors, especially
tending to her flowers and shrubs while having great respect for all God's creatures.
Rebecca is survived by her husband, Carlos; sons, Brent (Kirsten), Jarod (Pam);
2 grandchildren, Sophia and Henry; brother, Julian Moorefield, and sister, Martha
Pearce; 8 nieces and nephews.
