Robert S. Nevis
January 1, 1965 – July 31, 2019
Robert Nevis was born on New Year’s Day, 1965 in Santa Rosa, California to Patricia and Gordon Nevis. He grew up in Rohnert Park, CA and graduated from Rancho Cotate High School. He had always aspired to military service and served in the US Navy for three years before being medically discharged in 1986. He left California in 1988 to be closer to his parents in Snellville, GA. He later settled in Loganville, GA in 1992, where he lived until his passing.
Those who knew him knew that he had a passion for service and helping others. From the Navy and his many years as a mechanic with East Stone Mountain Tire & Battery, to his long tenure with the Walton County Fire Department, and later as an EMT and ambulance driver with ProCare, he was always serving his community. He was a single father for much of his children’s lives, and they meant everything to him. He also cared deeply for his family and friends, and was a rock of support upon which many people counted. His sudden absence is felt deeply by those he left behind.
Robbie is survived by his mother, Patricia Nevis, siblings Cari and Jeff Nevis, children, Jazmin Marshall (Benjamin), Andrew Nevis, and Brian Nevis, granddaughter Elyana Marshall, and a vibrant extended family including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Stanley Gordon Nevis.
The family is deeply appreciative of the love and support they are being shown in this difficult time.
