She was an only child, who grew up alongside many cousins. She captured the hearts of her Aunts and Cousins alike. She was adored by them all.
Rosa migrated to England, where she met, and married her true love, Sydney Martin. To this union, Ian and Andrea were born.
Rosa devoted herself to raising and providing for them both. Her independence led her to many ventures including her migration to the US in the early 70s, homeownership and owning a storefront business. Rosa accomplished all these things alongside a full-time career with Cascade Linen, where she retired from in 2004.
Rosa’s first born was tragically taken too soon. Naturally her heart ached for Ian, but her faith strengthened her to speak fond memories of him over the years.
Rosa’s family extended as she became a Grandmother to Shiane and Ianna. More recently, Great Grandma (GG) to Abrielle. They all have embraced their individual relationships with her, but one thing that can be agreed upon is that, she was a phenomenal woman who was much loved.
Outside of her immediate family, Rosa’s love covered many. Her honesty, youthful spirit and comical character allowed her to share a special bond with her family and friends.
Rosa took pride in her appearance. An immaculate outfit, well styled hair and polished nails were a necessity. Rosa loved to shop! However, she found comfort in her home and having her family visit from abroad.
Rosa’s faith played an important role in her life. She regularly attended church and participated in daily praise and worship. Confident in her belief in God, Rosa surrendered her spirit and transitioned on Saturday, May 29, 2021.
She is survived by her Daughter, Andrea Martin; Granddaughters, Shiane Sanders and Ianna Martin; and her Great-Granddaughter, Abrielle Parham.
She is sorely missed, but her legacy lives on.
