Ruth E. Lightle

A Celebration of Life and Resurrection will honor Ruth Elizabeth Lindsey Lightle, 89, who passed away on Nov. 10, 2012. Ruth was born on Dec. 23, 1922 in Savannah, GA., the daughter of Lewis Napoleon Lindsey of Macon, Ga. & Fannie Amanda Arnold Lindsey Henderson of Savannah, Ga. She resided for 8 yrs. in Assisted Living and 8 months at the Nursing Home at Delmar Gardens of Gwinnett, Lawrenceville, Ga. She was assisted by compassionate & loving caregivers at Delmar Gardens & Crossroads Hospice. Formerly from Chas,SC, Ruth was an Auditor for 5 yrs. at the Charleston County Auditor's Ofc. For 15 yrs. she worked at the Chas. Air Force Base as a GS-8 Accountant; the next 14 yrs, she worked as a free lance Court Reporter. Formerly married to W. Thomas Gatch of Johns Island, SC, of this union three daughters were born, Ruth 'Betty' Davis (Gary) Dothan AL., Carolyn Mullis (Buddy) Orange Beach, AL & Mary Edens (Bruce) Snellville, GA. Later divorced, Ruth married Edmond G. Lightle from Chas, SC. She was a loving wife, supportive & loving Mother, caring Grandmother, devoted sister & best friend to many. Predeceasing Ruth is her daughter, Linda Elaine Gatch, husband Edmond Lightle, sister Sara Lindsey Todd & granddaughter Ruth Amanda Dennis. Ruth is survived by three daughters, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, 1 nephew, 1 niece. Pall Bearers are her beloved grandsons, David Davis, Gary Davis, Jr., Randy Mullis, Ron Mullis, Timothy Edens & nephew, Art Jenkins. The family will receive friends from 10:30am until Noon on Mon., Nov. 12th at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, 3594 Stone Mountain Hwy, Snellville, GA. A Memorial Celebration will be held in the Chapel at Eternal Hills at Noon, Revs. Charles Robinson and Jerry Gentry officiating, followed by a Committal Service at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mt.Park United Methodist Church, 1405 Rockbridge Rd., Stone Mt., GA. or Crossroads Hospice, Tucker, GA.
