Steve was born in Rochester, NY on February 26, 1960 and grew up in Altamonte Springs, FL. Steve was preceded in death by his father Eugene Raymond VandeVelde. Steve had a passion for understanding the Gospel that is based on being saved by grace Alone through faith Alone in Christ Alone based on Scripture Alone to the Glory of God Alone. When Adam fell in the Garden of Eden, his descendants are physically born but spiritually dead. Every aspect of our being is affected by sin. We need spiritual life before we have the ability to believe. Jesus died for those that the Father gave him. God’s Grace is effective when God gives spiritual birth so that we have spiritual eyes to see and spiritual ears to hear. Since salvation is a work of God, as we work out our salvation with fear and trembling, they too will see Christ face to face.
Steve was never married. Steve is survived by his mom Thersea, and sister Carol her husband Brook Saline, Lilburn, GA; his three nieces and nephew; Jessica, Bethany Caitlyn and nephew Joel.
Steve worked in the Information Technology industry for almost 40 years, employed by four companies; Meridian Cooperatives, Macy’s Systems and Technology, Italian Design Group and Consolidated Computers, all in Atlanta, GA.
Steve’s enjoyment of going to antique stores grew into having his own antique booth until his health declined.
Steve leaves a legacy of being faithful follower of Jesus Christ. His spiritual confidence ‘In Christ’ did not change based on his life’s circumstances. Steve’s initial response to his cancer diagnosis “It is Well with My Soul.” The classic hymn of praise lyrics by Horatio G. Spafford. Steve sought comfort in his God Jesus Chris
