On Wednesday August 6, 2025, heaven celebrated the arrival of a treasured soul, Sylvia Rose Cherry. Sylvia lived life fully, in love and laughter. She started her beautiful journey in Chile, where she was always considered a favorite in any crowd, with her joyful demeanor and her generous nature. In her thirties, she traveled to the US, and that is when she met James Cherry, the man who would become her rock, and she his. The legacy of their love will be celebrated on earth by their family and friends, and is certainly being celebrated now in heaven, where these two soul mates are finally together again. Her choices in life were simple-she chose love, she chose joy, she chose compassion. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sister Gabriela Guazzini, her daughters Teresa McAuliffe, Marcella Cox, Dianna Cherry, her sons Michael Cherry, and Steven Cherry, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
