

Theresa was born on July 29, 1982, in Atlanta, GA to Mike Monroe and Patricia Madrigal Monroe. She grew up in Lilburn, GA and graduated from Parkview High School in 2001. She went on to successfully complete a dental assistant program and worked alongside beloved colleagues at Creekside Dentistry until her diagnosis.
Theresa married Christopher (Chris) Johnston, also a Parkview graduate, on June 14, 2008. Chris is a veteran of the U.S. Army. They resided happily in Loganville, Georgia where they welcomed son Christopher Dean on February 9, 2012.
Theresa was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She always thought of others first and retained a youthful outlook on life. Even as she struggled with her illness, she used her sense of humor to put others at ease. Theresa was loyal to those she loved and loved to dance and sing, especially with her son, little Chris. After her diagnosis, she remained positive, strong, courageous, selfless, kind-hearted and loving. Theresa was a faithful Catholic who relied on the Lord for strength and is now rejoicing in heaven.
Theresa is survived by her beloved husband, son and parents as well as her brother, Michael Alexander Monroe and her sister, Maggie Elizabeth Monroe Wilkes. She is also survived by her father and mother-in-law, Gary and Leann Johnston, her brothers in-law Gary and Joshua Jonhston, C.J. Wilkes and Michael Lambros and sisters in-law Jana Johnston Lambros, Amy Johnston, Nicole Johnston and Katie Swint Monroe. Numerous beloved aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins survive her, as well.
The viewing will take place on Monday, October 27, 2014, from 4PM to 8PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery at 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, GA 30039. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church at 5373 Wydella Road, Lilburn, GA 30047 on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 11AM. Burial to follow at Eternal Hills.
