Tonya was the eldest of three children and the only girl, born to the late Samuel and Barbara Veronica Syphrett. She spent most of her life in New York and New Jersey before relocating to Georgia in August of 2020.
Tonya was known for her unwavering kindness, strength, endurance and her generous spirit. She was constantly giving. She touched the lives of many with her compassion, resilience, and her love of life. Tonya loved traveling to new places and cooking for family and friends. It was important to her for her house to feel like home for her loved ones.
On March 11, 2023, Tonya gave her life to Jesus, was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. Tonya was a woman of great faith, a prayer warrior and a devoted member of her church. Above all else, she wanted her family to be saved. She lived her life in the service of others.
She spent her professional life working at the Federal Aviation Administration where she held many positions in management and won many awards including Civil Rights Employee of the Year.
Tonya loved her family deeply and worked hard to provide for them so they would never go without. She truly taught us the meaning of unconditional love and sacrifice and will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Tonya was preceded in death by her loving brother Darryl Syphrett. She
leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her husband
Ronald Gibson, brother Kevin Syphrett, her children, Josheed William Crawford, Taylor Joi Gibson, Malachi Omega Gibson and bonus children Leah and Darcel Mitchell.
She also leaves her two grandsons Levi Joseph Gibson, Jupiter Crawford, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
The family will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.
Tonya will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills cemetery but her spirit is now at rest in heaven.
You are not gone. You are just physically unable to be here.
We are still one family; as a family we are one.Our circle remains unbroken. Our ties cannot be undone!
