

Wilma J. Kriviski, age 83, passed away after an illness on March 31, 2016. Born a coal miner's daughter in Chevrolet, Kentucky on August 20, 1932, she was a long time resident of Alexandria, Virginia. She spent the last 17 years of her life in her home in Stone Mountain, Ga, surrounded by her family and lovingly cared for by her daughter, Michele Kriviski.
Wilma served in the Women's Air Force (WAF) from September 27, 1950 until her marriage to Charles Kriviski on September 5, 1952. As a devoted military wife and mother, she was stationed with her husband and children in Germany, Japan and Fort Campbell, Kentucky before settling in the Dowden Terrace neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia in 1968.
She begin her federal government career in Japan as a clerk typist, rising through the ranks as a personnel specialist at the Office of Personnel Management, Civil Aeronautics Board and the National Archives, retiring as their personnel director after 30 years of federal service. She then worked five more years at the Appalachian Regional Commission as personnel director before ending her career at age 67.
As a mother of seven and grandmother of ten, her love knew no bounds, her children and grandchildren will cherish their memories of her kindness and generosity. She will be remembered for her salty sense of humor, wonderful wit and infectious laugh. She was also an avid Redskins fan, watching every game in her favorite jersey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forester and Laura Mae and her brothers, Robert and Kenneth McKeehan and her ex-husband, Charles Kriviski.
She is survived by her seven children, Sandra Kriviski, Terri West, Diane Kriviski, Steve Kriviski and his wife Debby, Michele Kriviski, Charles Kriviski and Joseph Kriviski and his wife Margaret and her sister Delores Elwood and brother Bill McKeehan.
She was a proud grandmother, lovingly known as "Nanny" to Candice Hughes and husband Paul, Shelly Kriviski, Ian, Sean and wife Kristen, and Carli West, Eliot Kriviski, Casey Rhodes and husband Chad, Nick Wiegley, Jessica and Joey Kriviski and great grandmother to Ansley Hughes, Aiden and Connor Rhodes and Rylan Wiegely, and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
