Winnie married the late Leonard Cooper Sr (PaPa) on May 14, 1950 where they resided in Loganville, Georgia for many years. They had one son, Leonard Cooper Jr of Oxford, Georgia. She also helped raise her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews where they all called her "Big Winnie." Winnie was the matriarch of The Cooper Family. In spite of all that she did for others, Winnie never complained or asked for anything in return. One thing about Winnie she never met a stranger, and her love was unconditional.
Winnie was educated in the Public School System. She retired from South Gwinnett High School as a custodian after working there for several years. Even after retirement, Winnie still cleaned a few houses to keep herself busy. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and many church members that would just stop by "Cooper Town" to say "Hello" and to see how she was doing. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a supportive, diligent, and active member at Raymond Hill Baptist Church in Snellville, Georgia where she was a member of the usher board and church treasurer for several years.
Winnie was preceded in death by her husband, the late Leonard Cooper Sr; Sisters: Emma Cooper, Lillian Williams, Lueveria Daniel, Willie Mae Daniel and Lizzie Lou Porter; Brothers: Wilbur Porter Jr and Charlie Frank Porter. She leaves to cherish behind her memory; One Son: Leonard (Bernice) Cooper Jr; Three Grandchildren: Leonard L Cooper (Vale), Sherry L Cooper and Ra'Shun L Cooper; Five Great-Grandchildren: Carey Cooper, Corey Cooper, Marquavis Cooper, Torey Cooper and Phoenix Avery Cooper; Two Great-Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
