Yonas Tegegne was born on the 25th of March 1961 in Asmara the capital of Eritrea. He received his elementary and high school education in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He completed his formative years of college at Addis Ababa University, and then went to the Soviet Union on a scholarship to complete his higher education. After a year stay in the Soviet Union, he went to Athens, Greece to reunite with his then girlfriend, but soon to be future wife Tibebe Hailu. In 1989 they relocated to Boston, Massachusetts. They have been married for 32 years, and have two wonderful children, Bethel and Mathias. They matriculated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2000. Yonas has been employed with many companies serving in many different capacities such as NCR Corporation, DeKalb County Government, Emory University, Delta Airlines, RE/Max Real Estate and State Street Bank. Yonas was a loving and humble husband, and father; a quintessential brother, and friend to all individuals that crossed his life’s path. He was a very loyal, dedicated, and active member of his community. Yonas was only 57, but he accomplished so much and meant so much to many. He will forever be loved and missed by his wife, Tibebe Hailu; and children: daughter, Bethel and son, Mathias; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” -Psalm 46:1

Yonas was one of a kind and fun loving person I have known and fortunate enough to spend some time together in many occasions in Boston and Atlanta. He will be missed so much and no doubt that he is in God’s hand. RIP!!!

It’s so heart breaking to hear the death of Yonas. I would depict him as a man with jovial personality and very transparent. What he said is what he meant. Although death is inevitable, we r always taken by a sad surprise, when death plucks the dear ones. It’s a fate of life and we will all go through it sooner or later. Life is a journey and some complete it earlier and some later but Yoni ended it pretty early for a reason that only God knows. I am sure that he is good hands up there with our lord. Wish u Trio lots of strength and heavenly comfort. I am herewith expressing my deepest condolences on behalf of the entire Berhane Family.

LET YOUR SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE YONI..,,until we all reunite in the kingdom of God.
MY HEART GOES OUT TO TIBEB AND the two wonderful products of yours.
