Amelia Mastrogiacomo, 91, of Southington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at The Summit of Plantsville on January 20, 2022. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Chmella, and her brother Dominic Gioello, her nieces Deborah Gioello and Paula Kulak and her nephew Jason Gioello. Amelia was born in the Bronx, NY and met her husband Joseph while in high school. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary last year. In her early years, Amelia worked for AT&T and left to raise her children. In her later years, she worked for the VNA and enjoyed caring for the sick and elderly. She also volunteered for the International Civil Defense Organization and performed demonstrations on how to preserve water and food during natural man-made disasters. She was very creative and enjoyed crafts and cooking. She held many gatherings which will long be remembered for their originality and entertainment which she provided for family and friends. We will all miss her. Amelia is survived by her husband Joseph, and daughters, Regina Mastrogiacomo of Southington as well as her daughter and son-in-law Joanne and Charles Kerr of St. Petersburg, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joey Kerr and spouse Caitlin and new great granddaughter Jordon, grandson Jeremy Kerr of St. Petersburg, FL, siblings Nicholas Gioello and spouse Diane of Arizona, Anna Gioello and spouse Ruth Cushing of Southington, and sister-in-law Lucille Gioello of West Hartford as well as nieces and nephews, Doreen Raymond, Donna Gioello, Patric Gioello-Sjolund and Nicholas Gioello Jr..
