Andrew B. Connolly

Drew was born on May 24, 1942, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to the late Andrew B. Connolly Sr. and Helen (Collins) Connolly. He attended Croft High School in Waterbury and retired as a machinist from New Departure Hyatt Bearings, where his strong work ethic and skill were well known.

In 1995, Drew and Patricia moved to Southington, where they built a new home together and created a life filled with family, faith, and shared memories. Drew was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas Church until its closure and remained deeply connected to his faith and community.

A true car enthusiast, Drew had a lifelong passion for street rods, especially his cherished 1937 Ford. He was incredibly mechanically inclined and was always working on or fixing something. His collection of tools was legendary among family and friends. In later years, he took great pride in learning the art of texting and delighted in sending messages, memes, and emojis to loved ones across the country—no matter the time zone. He loved exchanging new recipes and cooking tips with friends and family alike.

Drew is survived by his loving children: Timothy Connolly and his wife Laura, Christopher Connolly and his wife Maureen, Robert “Gus” Connolly, and Kelli Sosa and her husband Oscar Jr. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Bianca, Brock, AJ, Katie, Shannon, Oscar III, and Ricky, who lovingly called him “Poppy” and held a truly special place in his heart. He is also survived by his brother Timothy S. Connolly.

A visitation for Drew will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington. His funeral will begin from the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026, and will process to The Church of St. Dominic 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington for an 11:00 AM Mass. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington.
