Born on May 10, 1930, in Southington, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Veronica (Kobylarz) Hubeny. Annette was a lifelong resident of Plantsville and a graduate of Lewis High School, Class of 1948.
Annette was employed by Imperial Spring Co. in Milldale for many years. She was an active and devoted parishioner of St. Aloysius Church, where she loved attending Mass. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and proudly served as its President. Annette was also very active with Church Women United and the Calendar House, where she enjoyed making crafts and quilting. She was a member of the Southington Police Wives Association, the Orchard Valley Garden Club, and the Southington Women’s Club.
Above all else, Annette cherished her family. She is survived by her five children: Phillip D’Agostino of Bristol; Paul D’Agostino and his wife, Shirley; Peter D’Agostino of Plantsville and Joanne; Patrick D’Agostino and his wife, Laurie, of Wolcott; and her daughter, Priscilla Cox and her husband, Gary, who was like another son to Annette. She is also survived by Beth, the mother of Peter’s children. Annette was a loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to 15 great grandchildren, all of whom meant the world to her and whom she loved dearly. Her grandchildren include Derek (Deidre) D’Agostino, Don D’Agostino, Dan D’Agostino, Alexander D’Agostino, Matthew D’Agostino (Sara Putney), Mallory D’Agostino, Audra (Gary) Van Tassell, Spencer (Ashley) D’Agostino, Griffin D’Agostino, Alexandra (Robert) Paul, Samantha D’Agostino, Adam Cox (Erica Westfort), Andrew Cox (Christina Westfort),and Alexa (Joe) Harvey. She is also survived by her sisters, Elinor Brunoli of Plantsville and Veronica Bock of Florida, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Annette was predeceased by her sister, Doris Telke, and her brother, Andrew Hubeny. Annette struggled with dementia during the last several years of her life, but one phrase remained constant in her vocabulary: “I love you.” Those three words speak beautifully to who Annette was and to what remained true about her throughout her life. Her love for her family never faded, and she will be remembered for the love, warmth, kindness, and joy she shared with all those fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 9th at 11:00 AM at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Philip. Calling hours will be prior to the Mass from 8:15 – 10:15 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
