Anthony L. Kosienski Jr., 80, of Meriden and formerly of Southington passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. He was the loving husband of Lucille (Lucas) Kosienski for 57 years.
Born in Meriden on June 7, 1942 he was the son of the late Anthony L. Kosienski Sr. and Irene (Sambor) Kosienski.
After high school, Tony attended Hartt School of Music. Tony’s love of music was shared with family and friends via Mary Our Queen Church in Plantsville where he was a cantor and choir member for over 50 years. Tony was also the custodian and caretaker of MOQ until his retirement in June of 2022.
Tony also shared his love of baseball with this son where he coached teams from T-Ball through senior league and helped his wife run the concession stand for 12 years.
Tony was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and was an easy going and loving person.
Tony was employed by Travelers Insurance Co. for 25 years and was the owner of three Pralines ice cream shops in the area for many years.
In addition to his wife Lucille he leaves his son, Marc Kosienski and wife Johannah of Berlin; two grandchildren, the joy of his life, Eowyn and Joshua Kosienski; two sisters, Irene “Renee” Mirabello of Meriden and Catherine Williams and husband Kenneth of Durham along with several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Fred Mirabello.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:15 a.m. at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville, for a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
