

Anthony J. “Tosh” Tarfano, 84, of Southington, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, surrounded by his family. On June 11, 1939, in true Tosh style, he was born in a car on the way to the hospital to Frances and Louis Tarfano. He was the high school sweetheart and loving husband of Patricia (Pye) Tarfano for over 61 years.
Tosh was proud of his Italian American heritage, his country, and the Southington community. He served in the US Army National Guard and was a member of the Southington UNICO, Southington Elks Club, the American Legion Post 72, and a former president of the SHS Gridiron Club. The Gang Scarpa Shoda Boys From The Hill was near and dear to his heart.
Always the salesman,Tosh was never too busy to answer a call to keep his RoBrand customers satisfied for the past 24 years. His friendliness, knack for numbers and quick wit fueled a lifelong and successful sales career.
Tosh was happiest spending his free time with family during weekly boat outings, snowmobiling adventures, and supporting his grandchildren in various activities.
In addition to his wife Patty, he is survived by his children Deborah Bottaro (David), Dawn Ferrante (James), Wendy Brick (Terence), and Adam Tarfano (Stacy). He was the proud grandfather to Danielle Pangallo (Frankie), Samantha Bottaro, Sydney and Francesca Ferrante, Nicole and Anthony Nelson, Marcus, Maren and Mason Tarfano, great-grandson, Francis D. Pangallo, sister Ann Marie Bonvini (Robert), sister-in-law Eleanor Pye; several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Robyn Nelson, two brothers, Richard and Louis Tarfano, and brother-in-law Timothy Pye.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 10:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington for a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery.
