Barbara Orsie

Barbara (Koren) Orsie, 80, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Southington Care Center, with her beloved husband by her side. She was the devoted wife of Roger Orsie, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on November 16, 1944, in New Britain, Barbara was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Koren. She dedicated 42 years of service to the National Cash Register Corporation, where her hard work and commitment were deeply valued.

A generous and caring soul, Barbara was a longtime volunteer at Mulberry Gardens and the Southington Care Center, giving over 30 years of her time to bring comfort and joy to others.

Barbara was a gifted and passionate crafter, known especially for her hand-painted Ukrainian eggs—intricate works of art that reflected her patience and creativity. She found great joy in these artistic endeavors, often spending hours perfecting each design.

She and Roger shared a love of classic cars, traveling to shows together and exploring beautiful destinations including Hawaii, the Cayman Islands, and St. Thomas. Their adventures were a source of happiness and cherished memories.

Barbara leaves behind her loving husband Roger, and many dear friends whose lives she touched with kindness, warmth, and grace.

A memorial service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
