Barbara F. Shanley

Southington- Barbara F. Smith Shanley, 84, of 313 Songbird Lane, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1921 at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert Smith Sr. and Andrew Shanley.She was born Dec. 1, 1921 in Meriden, daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (Burke) Faeth. Mrs. Shanley retired in 1985 from Cigna of Wallingford where she had worked for 10 years. She was a parishioner of St. Dominic Church.She is survived by 3 sons; Robert Smith Jr and his wife Karen of Southington, Peter Smith and his wife Virginia of Alstead, NH and Gregory Smith and his wife Patricia of Pembroke, NH, 2 daughters, Mary Jane Dix and her husband Stephen of Old Lyme and Beverly Smith of Warren, her stepchildren and their spouses; Kathy and Bob Maguda, Chris Lee, Valerie and Bruce Greene, Ellen and Ken Waldron, Marietta and Joe Policki, Joan and Brian Stefanowicz, all of Southington, a brother, Joseph ?Pete? Faeth Jr. of VA and a sister, Eleanor and her husband Robert Hallbach of Meriden, 25 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Mary Janiga and a step son-in-law, Ron Lee.The Funeral will be held Saturday 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Dominic Church at 10 a.m. for a mass. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 5-8 p.m. Donations may be in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave. Meriden, CT 06450.
