

Camille M. Simone, 93, of Southington, peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Guttenberg, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Loretta (Petrillo) Wagenbrenner and the beloved wife of the late George F. Simone Jr., with whom she shared sixty wonderful years.
Camille was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy came from her kitchen, where she found immense pleasure in cooking for her family. Her Sunday dinners became a cherished tradition, bringing loved ones together. A dedicated community member, Camille served as president of the Southington Woman's Club and was affectionately known as "The AVON Lady" for over 40 years. She was a passionate supporter of the UCONN Huskies and the Boston Red Sox, and a long time parishioner of St. Thomas Church, where she shared her love of music by singing in the choir.
Camille leaves behind a legacy of love through her family. She is survived by her five children: George (Barbara), Gregory (Cindy), Gary (Christine), Gerilyn Simone, and Gayle (Michael) Ambrose. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Quinn; her cherished grandchildren: Ricky, Carissa (Chris), Katie (Mike), Erica, Danielle, Amber, Kimberly (Colin), Jeffrey (Britney), Ryan, and Brandon; her great-grandchildren: Shane, Keighly, Soraya, Kane, Skyler, Layla, and Grant; Life long friend Rita as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Her passing marks the end of a classic generation, and she will be wholeheartedly missed by all who survive her. Camille was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Testa, and her grandson, Matthew.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, August 27th, from 9-11 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. A celebration of life will follow at the funeral home, then proceeding to St. Thomas Cemetery, Meriden Ave., Southington, where Camille will be laid to rest beside her late husband, George.
