Carl Zehnder

Born in Waterbury on April 30, 1916 the son of the late Armin and Mary (Sonderegger) Zehnder. He was raised in Naugatuck and graduated from Naugatuck High School. He also graduated from Pratt institute in Brooklyn, NY where he received a degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. Zehnder was employed by Chase Brass and Copper for over 40 years. He was a U.S Army-Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He resided in Cheshire for 35 years before moving to Wolcott in 1989.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Carl Zehnder Jr. and his wife Jane of Southington, a daughter Donna and her husband John Kiernan of Watertown, 5 grandchildren, Amy and her husband Steven Daddona, Betsy and her husband Tyler Smith all of Southington, Brian Zehnder of Unionville, Patrick Kiernan and Daniel Kiernan of Watertown, 4 great grandchildren Nicholas and Ryan Daddona and Kaley and Megan Smith all of Southington

He was predeceased by a sister Ruth Brooks.

The funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church,525 Woodtick Rd, Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 690 Woodtick Rd.
