
Southington - Carmen Alfieri, 88 of Clark St. Ext., Mildale section of Southington, died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Alzheimer's Resource Center of CT. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Madeline (Varano) Alfieri. Born January 19, 1919 in Oakville a son of the late Angelo and Rosalie (Motta) Alfieri. Carmen was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre. He owned and operated Alfieri & Sons Construction Co. and was also a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church.
He is survived by three sons, Michael Alfieri of Bristol, Thomas Alfieri of Southington and John Alfieri of Bristol; a daughter Elizabeth Zurosky of Wolcott; two brothers Salvatore Alfieri of Southington and John Alfieri of Meriden; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous niecies and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Marcy and James Alfieri and three sisters, Mary Garro, Frances Urbanski and Ernestine Romano.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at 10:45 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
