
Born in Amorosi, Italy on July 10, 1917, he was the son of Vitangelo and Assunta (Ferrucci) Riccio. He served in the Italian Army for 7 years during WWII. He was a P.O.W. captured by the Germans and literally walked home from Germany back to Italy. He came to America in 1954 and was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church. Carmine had been employed by Diamond International for many years.
Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by a son Vito Riccio of Somers, a sister Louisa Iorillo of CA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Ralph Riccio, the late Vito Riccio, Pat D?Aunno, Ralph Ciaburri, Assunta Vendetti and their families. He was predeceased by brothers Raffaele, Antonio and Achille Riccio, and sisters Assunta Iatomassi and Lucia Ferrucci.
Funeral will be Saturday 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington, to St. Thomas Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
