Christine Wolter

Christine Alice (Berglund) Wolter passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2013 at her home in Mystic after a courageous 19 month battle with cancer. She was the wife of Dr. Kevin Wolter and daughter of the late William and Claire Berglund.

Christine was born in Golchuk, Turkey where her father was stationed in the US Navy. The family lived at various Naval bases on the eastern seaboard. In 1964, when her father retired from the navy, the family settled in Wolcott, CT. Chris graduated from Wolcott High School and attended Upsala College in New Jersey. She obtained her LPN certification and worked as a nurse at various hospitals while her husband Kevin attended medical school. They settled their family in Cheshire, CT where they raised their daughters, Erin and Lindsey. When the girls were grown, Kevin and Chris moved to Mystic where they enjoyed walking on the beach and kayaking.

Besides her devoted husband of 37 years, Chris is survived by her daughters Erin (Todd) Daniels of FL, Lindsey (Dallas) Burke of VA, her five beloved grandchildren to whom she was known as G-MA, Emily, Justin, Matthew, Kaelyn and Corbin. She also leaves her sisters Celeste (Ned) Rich of Westborough, MA, Nancy (Jim) Cosgrove of Wolcott, her brothers Peter (Paula) Berglund of Norwich, CT, John (Patty) Berglund of Vernon, CT, Joe (Kim) Berglund of Wolcott,CT, her mother-in-law Doris Baker of Niantic,CT, her brother-in-law Darren (Kacey) Wolter of Stonnington,CT, sister-in-law Lauren (Tom) Tolla of Guilford,CT as well as seventeen nieces and nephews.

All Funeral Services are private. There are no calling hours.
