Claudette L. Martin

Claudette L. (Desjardins) Martin, 89, of Southington, beloved wife of 71 years to Jean G. Martin, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Claudette was born in Madawaska, Maine to the late Louis and Josephine (Beaulieu) Desjardins.

Claudette was the epitome of a homemaker. Always tending to the needs of her family is truly what made her happy. Claudette also loved a challenging jigsaw puzzle. Some of her works were upwards of 15 - 20,000 pieces and could be seen displayed throughout her home. Claudette and her family were blessed to have traveled the world having a home in the Dominican Republic, St. Croix, and the annual summer home in Otis, Mass. Many memories were made in these places that will forever be remembered by all.

Besides her husband, Claudette is survived by her daughters Karen Martin-Epprecht and Elaine Martin; her son Brian Martin and son Gene A. Martin (Karen); granddaughter Tina Miron (Ryan Rudzinski); grandson Jesse Miron (Amie), grandson Corey Miron (Amanda), granddaughter Marisa Martin, grandson Christopher Martin, granddaughter Alexandria Martin, granddaughter Shannon Martin, grandson Daniel McCormick, grandson Gene A. Martin and 11 great-grandchildren.

Claudette was preceded in death by a grandson Eric Miron, as well as 8 brothers and 4 sisters.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday August 6, 2024 from 4 - 7 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Dominic Church 1050 Flanders Rd. Southington. All who wish to attend are asked to gather directly at church. Claudette will be laid to rest in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
