

Cuono Tufano, of Southington, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on Monday, October 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 62 years old and the devoted husband of Lisa Tufano for 37 years. Cuono was preceded in death by his parents, Ignazio and Rosalinda Tufano.
Born on February 6, 1963, in Alvignanello, Italy, Cuono immigrated to Southington, CT, as a child with his parents and brother.
He leaves behind his cherished children: Ignazio Tufano and his girlfriend Kaitlin Kretock; Rosalinda Wilkison and her husband Mathew; and grandson Johnathan. He is also survived by his brother Vincenzo Tufano and wife Jodi; sister Filomena Bocek; brothers-in-law Brian Bocek and Todd Asklar and wife Stacy; nieces Julia Upton and husband Kyle, Jessica Lonecki and husband Josh, and great-nephew Jack; nephew Jacob Bocek and girlfriend Kayla Grech; aunt Maria Picone and husband Luigi; uncle Amato and wife Carmela; and many cousins and their children.
Cuono worked in restaurants in Southington before retiring as a machinist from Ideal Forging. For years, he ran the fried dough stand with his mother at Music on the Green, a beloved local tradition, and personally made the sausage and peppers that became a crowd favorite. A man of many passions, he delighted in making food, playing guitar—especially during his time in a band—and gardening. He also enjoyed restoring classic cars, making wine with his family, and pursuing stand-up comedy, once earning praise that he belonged in Vegas. Above all, Cuono was known for his generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his unwavering love of family and his infectious humor.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home at 211 N. Main St., Southington, to St. Dominic Church at 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Cuono’s memory.
