David Darryl Fasulo, known to many as Darryl, was born on September 4, 1949, in Southington, Connecticut, to the late James and Margaret (Gioia) Fasulo. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Rhode Island Hospital on December 23, 2025 at the age of 76. A lifelong resident of Southington, Darryl recently relocated to Rhode Island in June, where he continued to enjoy time with family and at the shore he loved so dearly.
Darryl was the beloved husband of Cynthia (Aszklar) Fasulo, his partner in life for 42 years. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Darryl’s family meant everything to him and brought him immense pride and joy.
Darryl worked locally throughout his life at The Truck Stop (Southington), New Britain Candy Co. (Wethersfield), and Citgo Food Mart (Bristol) before retiring.
For many years, Darryl generously gave his time as a coach for the Southington Midget Football League, leaving a lasting impact on countless young athletes. He was an avid sports fan who
loved New York sports teams and was a Hartford Wolfpack season ticket holder for many years. He also cherished his beloved mini dachshund, Snookie. His favorite place was the family cottage on Great Island, RI where he taught his children to bogey board, clam, and drive a boat. Lazy days at the beach, lobster dinners, and bonfires with family brought Darryl much joy. He loved evenings in Newport, RI at One Pelham East or The Landing to enjoy air guitar and Diet Cokes with his favorite local band, Straight Outta Rehab.
Darryl was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas Church in Southington until its closing, and he never lost his faith.
In addition to his loving wife Cynthia, Darryl is survived by his three children: Stephanie Michaud and her husband Richard Jr., David Fasulo Jr. and his wife Paige, and Nicole Holbrook and her
husband Montana. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Adrianna, Emerson, Gracyn, and Carmina; and his niece Meghan Burns and her husband Edward IV.
He was predeceased by his special aunt and uncle, Edward and Ann Michaud, who were like second parents to him, as well as his brother-in-law, William Aszklar.
