Dawn A. (Lafar) Raudis, 62, of Southington passed away on February 19, 2021 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of William Jerome Raudis, Jr and beloved mother of three and grandmother to five.

Dawn was born on July 4, 1958 in New Haven, CT., to the late Ernest and Ruth (Martin) Lafar.

In addition to her husband Billy, she leaves behind her children, Cinda Marie (Orozco) Mort of Seymour, Amy Theresa (Raudis) Callegari and husband Brandon Lee Callegari of Plainville, and Timothy Michael Orozco of Southington and her siblings, Theresa Agnes Lafar of Georgetown, NC and Edward Joseph Lafar of New Britain. Dawn loved to spend time with family and friends and was the life of every party. She loved all that nature had to offer. She was a master gardener and knew everything when it came to plants and flowers. She was a friend of all animals big and small. She loved taking scenic motorcycle rides with her husband on their Harley. She had a love for music and used to sing for Project One, in the 2000s.

Dawn touched everyone’s life in her own special way and she will be missed and mourned by many. The family would like to thank the staff on the critical care floor at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, for their compassionate and professional care.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dawn’s name to your favorite animal rescue foundation or wildlife charity.

Dawn was an amazing woman whose contagious laugh and amazing smile could light up a room. Dawn was one of the kindest people I ever had the pleasure to know. She will be missed greatly. Some of my favorite memories of Dawn include her awesome Halloween costumes, her love and knowledge of all the animals especially her Blue Heron. She was such a kind soul and she will forever be remembered.
