

Dolores "Dee" Marie Skovich, age 81, of Southington, Connecticut passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Britain on September 20, 1942 to the late Louis and Phyllis (Martinello-Cardello) Horazy. Dee was raised in New Britain and lived in Bristol throughout her married life with her soulmate, the late Richard Skovich Sr. and has lived in Southington for the past 15 years.
Dee was a natural born caregiver, confidant and friend. The center of her life was always her family and friends. Dee was a doting grandmother who spent cherished time assisting her own children with the care of her beloved grandchildren. Anyone who came to know her would always know her true loving and giving spirit. She was an Executive Assistant for years at Aetna and later became an Associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph and volunteered much of her time to ministry. This was such an important part of her life. Dee was also an avid traveler and was fond of knitting and cooking for her family and friends. Dee will truly be missed, loved and never forgotten.
Dee is survived by her three children; daughter Christine (Michael) Agli of Plantsville, daughter Robin (Michael) Holcomb of Cromwell, and son Richard (Nicole) Skovich Jr. of Charlestown, RI. She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren; Morgan Skovich and partner Scott Dobeck, Dylan Agli and his wife Sara Palmer, Jacob Agli, Colin and Jack Holcomb, Dempsey Skovich, Emma and Ethan Agli, and her great-grandchildren; Maxly, Luca, and Amity. Dee also leaves behind her sister-in-law Eileen Smith and her Aunt Fran Ritone. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Victoria Cochefski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday June 21, 2024 at 11 AM at St. Dominic's Church, 1050 Flanders Road Southington. The family will receive visitors prior to Mass at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington on Friday June 21, 2024 from 8:30-10:30 AM. Interment will follow Mass at Holy Trinity Cemetery in New Britain. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, 650 Willard Ave. Newington, CT 06111, Attention Sister Sally Hodgdon.
