Dorothy Ierardi

Plainville- Dorothy (Coons) Ierardi, 93, passed away peacefully Sunday Aug. 3, 2008 at the Alzheimer's Resource Center in Plantsville after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Earl C. Ierardi. She was born in Plainville daughter of the late Wilbert Sr and Nellie Orvis Coons She is survived by her son Frank "Chick" Ierardi and his wife Carolyn of Bantam, a daughter, Patricia Logan and her husband Bruce of Plainville. 5 grandchildren, Kevin Logan of Bristol, Dr. Debora Logan of Cedar Park, TX, Brian Logan and his wife Marlyn of East Haven, Laura McBride of Bristol, Fran Bashir of New Britain, 6 great grandchildren, James & Joshua McBride of South Carolina, Sarah McBride of Bristol, Brittany Logan of Bristol, Samantha Logan of Jewett City and a step-great grandson, A.J. Wright of East Haven, 2 sisters, Beverly Werner of Bristol, Ethel Goodwin of Newington, a brother Donald Coons and his wife Joan of Wolcott, 3 sisters-in-law, JoAnne Mills, Margaret Ierardi and Jean Ierardi, a brother-in-law, Richard Ierardi and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister Helen Tedesco and 2 brothers, Wilbert "Juny"Coons and Richard Coons. She retired in 1970 after 28 years working as an assembler from G.E. in Plainville. She was an avid crossword puzzle player and enjoyed watching game shows on TV and reading. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. A very special "Thank You" to all the nurses, doctors and aides at the Alzheimer's Center who gave such special care and love to our mother for the past 8 1/2 years. God Bless you all! The Funeral will be held Wednesday 9:15a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Our Lady of Mercy Church at 10 in Plainville. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Plainville. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Resource Center, 216 South Main St. Plantsville, CT 06479.
