Edna P. Groover

Edna was born in Canton, PA on February 29, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Millard and Zora (Moretz) Castle.

She is survived by her four children; Loraine Rose of OH, Valerie Ostrander and her husband John of Wolcott, Mitchell Groover and his wife Kathy of Terryville, and Christopher Groover and his husband Daniel Turcotte of Tolland; a brother Alfred Castle of PA; five grandchildren Tom and wife Katie, Andrea and husband Brendan, Melissa and husband John, Andrew and wife Kelly and Amy and husband Brendon; eight great-grandchildren Chandler, Shane, Reese, Mason, Benjamin, Eva, Brendon and Emily; four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son in law, Paul Rose; seven brothers Benjamin, James, Robert “Claude”, Arnold, Millard Jr. and Frankie and eight sisters Edith Cole, Lola Stanbery, Ruby Conley, Mable Brown, Shirley Metzger, Eva Govus, Violet Jankowski and Lela Smith.

Services and burial in the CT State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown will be privately celebrated with her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edna’s memory may be made to the Plainville United Methodist Church, 56 Red Stone Hill, Plainville, CT 06062. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N.
